Holiday havoc...

seriously. There is just something about this holiday that makes people nutso.

DongZhi is tomorrow and I still have to go to the Chinese grocery to get the ingredients necessary for our soup. Quinlon's Dongzhi gift is ready to go, and we have tentatively decided to give it to him in bed when he first wakes up, but we're still kicking around ideas on how to start this tradition.

And the real highlight of my holiday shopping accomplishments is that I scored the most gorgeous doll for Quinlon for under $30.

That is from Santa, though. It's not actually here yet, still in transit. Keeping my fingers crossed that the USPS doesn't screw it up for me.

I love that doll! Where did you get it?

It's a Kathe Kruse waldorf doll from her Feng Shui elements series. Its the 'earth' element. Quinlon is an earth rat (Chinese Zodiac) so we thought it fitting.

It doesn't look like the current one in the series, and since I am buying it secondhand, it is probably a previous version.

That is adorable! I know Q will love it.

I saw an article about this Jessi and I immediately thought about you. There has been a lot in politics lately with talk of trying to make it a LOT more difficult to sell homemade toys in the U.S. This site has info about projected government bills, how it would impact our ability to purchase homemade baby items, and what you can do in your home state to try to make a difference. The site is here: http://www.handmadetoyalliance.org/

Just a humble "heads' up!" of course. Have a wonderful holiday!
